Dear people of God may the Lord give you grace, peace, and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 26th November 2021.
We reflect on Daniel 7:2-14 and Luke 21:29-33.
God’s Word and Reign will never end. Whatever happens in front and around us, however terrifying it could be, yet God has the final say and evil can never overcome the Supreme Good, the Truth and the Life.
In today’s first reading, the prophet Daniel saw a vision of four animals or beasts representing the four powerful kingdoms of Babylonia, Persia, Greece, and Rome, respectively. However powerful they were, they were destroyed. God’s Kingdom is eternal, and everlasting is the message conveyed to us.
The Gospel too reminds each one of us to put our entire trust in God and God’s Word, which is Jesus Himself. The Kingdoms would disappear, unstoppable natural calamities will come, and unbelievable change would happen in the world. Let us not get perturbed, terrified, and dissipated seeing all these. Like the fig tree during the winter, the Word of God might remain lifeless amidst all these things around us, there is springtime for our life and soul, the Word of burst into blossom.
“Heaven and earth will pass away,” (Lk.21:33), the Word of God withstand everything, every time and person. Let us not be tired of discerning amidst all negative stories, and toxic ideologies and willful destruction of truth and justice. There is no need to panic, rather pray; discern not be distracted; decide not to despair when we have the Word of God guiding our life. May God bless you.
