May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 22nd September 2021.
We reflect on Ezra 9:5-9 and the Gospel of Luke 9:1-6.
Good News is Jesus is alive today and lives among us and in us. Giving hope to all people around is the Good News. The mission of Christ was accomplished by the One Sacrifice that redeemed us all from sin and that is why we are empowered to release people from pain, and all that make them to forget God.
Most of us think and believe that the mission that is entrusted to us to remain in the church doing praise and worship but in fact, Jesus wants us to get out of the Churches where we are sitting comfortably to extend the helping hands to people in need outside the Church.
It is possible when we realize our identity and acknowledge God in all we do. Knowledge, skills, and mastery do not make a human being healed and contented but God does. We are living in a world in which our identity is faked, fashioned, and grandiose.
The prophet Ezra throws a clear light on our life the prayer attributed to him as a communal confession of sin. “For we are slaves; yet our God has not forsaken us in our slavery but has extended to us his steadfast love to give us new life to set up the house of our God, to repair its ruins, and to give us a wall.” (Ezra 9:9).
The mission of the Twelve is entrusted to us too. “They departed and went through the villages, bringing the good news and curing diseases everywhere.” (Lk.9:6). We received the Baptism to be sent out into the world to continue the work of Jesus namely proclaiming the Kingdom, casting demons, healing the sick, to live a life of detachment, to rely totally on God, and constantly cleansing our sin by dusting our feet and hearts. Let us not remain complacent about our efficiency rather move on towards effectiveness in our spiritual and personal life.
May the Lord bless each one of us to take up the mission that is entrusted to us by the Lord through the Church in our own way with our sources and resources. Have a fruitful day. God bless you.
Thank you dear Acha.May the Lord bless and give the grace to take up the mission that is entrusted by the Lord.
