May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 20th July 2021.
We reflect on Exodus 14:21 – 15:1 and the Gospel of Matthew 12:46-50.
Spectacular things happen when we remain in faith in the Lord.
The people of Israel had to do nothing except to just keep moving forward as the Lord prepared the way for them on the Red Sea or Reed Sea.
Whatever is in front of us today, however impossible to cross through, whoever is chasing behind us to destroy us, we do not need to fear. Whether it is a person, event, or a pandemic, we need to believe that this battle is not against the humanity but against God’s goodness and integrity. Because we are God’s children no matter which racial, lingual, national group we belong. God fights for our cause.
“Let us flee from the Israelites, for the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.” (Ex.14:25). Trusting in God at all times is the will of God for all of us.
The challenge we face after coming out from slavery or addiction or dependence of any kind, we do not believe that God is fighting with us and for us. God surely knows that we have no energy or resources to fight such evil, well-equipped enemies of our life. People of Israel did not have such sophisticated army personnel to fight back yet the Lord faced everything for them and brought them victory and happiness. We belong to God’s family. God protects us all as a family of God every time we need to cross the impossible waters of life.
“If God is on our side, who can be against us.” (Rom.8:31).
Jesus reinstates that we are God’s family, when we listen, lean, learn and lead our life according to the Word of God. “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mt.12:50). To know the will of God takes us further to accept the plan of God in our life. May the Lord bless all our efforts to have the exodos towards God.
