Dear People of God,
It is 05th January 2015. Theme of Epiphany that is searching for the light of Christ is being continued. The First Reading from the First Letter of John cautions us to test every spirit in the light of Christ by following His commands. There is a spirit of darkness which refuses to accept Jesus as the Christ. In another word, refusing the light of Christ and not willing to recognise him is satanic, anti-Christ, and evil in nature. There is a spirit of truth which belongs to Christ and there is a spirit of lies belong to Satan. The evil is in the world we live and around us. Without the light of Jesus, it will be extremely difficult to know these spirits. Because of our faith in Jesus, we can easily overcome this evil we encounter every time. This reading invites us to believe, “He, who is in us is powerful than he who is in the world.” (1Jn.4:4).When we please God, God promises in the Responsorial Psalm, “Ask of me and I will give you all the nations for an inheritance.” The Gospel offers hope telling, “the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light… a light is arisen.” In order to experience the light of Christ, we need to “Repent.” Repentance brings healing and light within ourselves. Light of Christ is experienced in so many ways in our lives. By saying no to the evil consciously and daily, our diseases are healed. May the Lord help you to recognise the spirit of Christ so as to experience the light of Christ. May the Lord bless you.
