Dear People of God,
It is 14th January 2015. The readings are taken from Heb. 2:14-18 and the Gospel Mk.1:29-39. The first reading brings out the purpose of Jesus as the High Priest. He accepts to redeem us. In order to save us, He became a human being. Endowed with all human qualities, He tried to bring people to God. Even though He was God, he was totally human and willing to help us. In expressing his human qualities, he allowed grace to operate in His life. He took human beings to God and bringing God to human beings. We are all priests by the virtue of baptism. We are all called to bring God to people and people to God on a daily basis. Jesus is compassionate to us and trustworthy to God. In the Responsorial Psalm we read, “Give thanks to the Lord, tell his name, make known his deeds among the people.” In the Gospel, we encounter Jesus as the healer. He heals the mother in-law of St. Peter. She served him after being healed by Jesus. Many people were brought to Jesus for healing and he healed them all. “In the morning, while It was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.” (Mk 1:35). Yes, we need to work for the Lord. But We must not forget to communicate with him in a personal way through our personal prayer. Ministry without personal prayer is for selfish and personal glory not for the glory of God. Let us find some time to communicate with God amidst out busy schedules. May you have a blessed day.
