It is 01st April 2015. The readings are from Is.50:4-9a and the Gospel from Mt.26:14-25. The first reading invites us to have disciple’s tongue. “The Lord Yahweh has given me a disciple’s tongue, that I may know how to sustain the weary with the word. The word rouses me in the morning, in the morning he rouses my ear to hear like a disciple.” (Is.40:5). One has to experience before transmitting it to others. “The Lord God is my help therefore I am not disgraced.” (Is.50:7). The Lord will never allow us to disgrace because of the opposition we face in lives. The responsorial Psalm prays, “Lord, in your great love, answer me.” (Ps.69:14). The Gospel presents that how Judas agrees to betray Jesus. Matthew reports exact amount for betrayal. 30 silver coins, the price of a slave (Ex.21:32). Judas betrayed Jesus because of his greed, selfishness, and love of money. Those who betray others never lived and ended their lives happily. Betrayal destroys the foundational values of human lives. When someone betrays another person, he/she lets down themselves spiritually and relationally. Let us ask the Lord today to have the ears of the disciple, who is willing to learn in every moment of life. May we become the true disciples of Jesus through our personal listening and following the Words of the Lord until the end. May you have a blessed day.
