It is 10th September 2015. The readings are from Col.3:12-17 and the Gospel from Lk.6:27-38. The first reading offers a few strategies to live for God on a daily basis. We all need to develop and imitate a forgiving attitude with the compassion of Christ. Let love be the measuring scale in relating with others and live our lives in peace with enormous thankfulness. All we do or say, we must give precedence to the Word of God and live in peace. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart, since as member of one body you were called to peace.” (Col.3:15). The responsorial Psalm prays, “Let everything that breathes give praise to the Lord.” (Ps.150:6). The Gospel challenges our spiritual life in loving and hating people. Jesus invites us to show our love as Christian. “Treat others as you would like them to treat you.” (Lk.6:31). Christian love forgives, serves, prays, never judges, treats equally, imitates God’s love and promotes peace with one another. A true Christian love expects nothing in return and never tired of loving even when there are any signs of love in return. Giving without expecting until the nothing more to give is the sacrificial love. “For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Lk.6:38). We must learn daily to treat others generously, graciously and compassionately. Judging will be less or none when there is true love in abundance. Is that so easy in our lives to love those who hate us? Indeed, it is extremely impossible yet Jesus tells us to offer them their rights and respect as we ourselves desire when we turn to be an enemy for someone. Let us put on love of Christ in dealing with others. Have a good day.
