It is 12th November 2015. We celebrate the memorial of St. Josaphat, the Bishop and Martyr. The readings are from Wis. 7:22b-8:1 and the Gospel from Lk. 17:20-25. The first reading describes 21 qualities of wisdom. Three qualities directly refer to God, and seven talks about perfection. We need to aspire for wisdom which inspired the prophets and enlightens our minds. Wisdom penetrates every fiber of our being. The responsorial Psalm acclaims, “Your word, O Lord, stands for ever.” (Ps.118:89). The Gospel expounds the states of the coming of the kingdom of God. Everybody wants an answer and a quick fix and therefore people of God are shunting around looking for Christ here and there. “For, you must know, the kingdom of God is among you.” (Lk.17:21). The first stage of coming of Kingdom of God is very personal. The second stage will be for all humanity which will be the end of the world. The first is over because Christ dwells among us. Let us be ready to meet the Lord at any time of our lives. Beware of false teachers and prophets who display extraordinary healing powers. May God grant you wisdom to be ready to encounter the Lord.
