It is 02nd December 2015. The readings are from Is. 25:6-10a and the Gospel from Mt.15:29-37. The first reading is the open invitation to God’s royal banquet. Giving a banquet is the first and primary messianic gift. This food satisfies our souls. God reveals himself to all is the second gift. The third gift is to participate in the life in heaven. “The Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces; God will take away the shame of God’s people.” (Is. 25:8). The responsorial Psalm acclaims, “In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever.” (Ps.22:6). In the Gospel we encounter Jesus who gave a banquet to the hungry and wiped away every tear of the lame, the cripple, the dumb and the blind. . “I do not want to send them off hungry, they might faint on the way.” (Mt.15:32). There are three times Jesus fed the people. One with 5000 people, another with 4000 people and during the Last Supper with His disciples. God cares for us and therefore God feeds us through God’s only Son. We must never be perplexed about any situation. Let us trust God and God’s beloved Son Jesus when we are in despair and faced with the difficult situations. God wants to satisfy our hunger during this Advent. May we make an effort to participate in the banquet of God. May you have a day full of peace.
