It is 11th February 2016. We celebrate the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is the World Day of the Sick. Our Lady appeared to a 14 year old Marie Bernadette18 times between February 11th to July 16th in 1858. Mother Mary invites us to pray the Holy Rosary as the weapon against the growing antagonism against God. The readings are from Deuteronomy 30:15-20; and the Gospel from Luke 9:22-25. The first reading is a sermon of Moses, which invites us to choose life. In order to enhance and experience life in full, we need to love, obey and follow the commandments of God. “Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying God, and holding fast to God.” (Deut.30:19). Let us choose God, life, happiness and blessings. “Happy the person who has placed the trust in the Lord.” (Ps.1:5). The Gospel reminds us about our duties during the Lent. Without sacrifices, we cannot become the partakers of the blessings. Jesus himself chose the toughest path of sufferings and death in order to offer us the eternal life and glory. We are invited to choose and respond today. No cross, no crown. Our sufferings and sacrifices are not in vain. They truly help us to see the picture of heaven and God clearly. May God bless you to choose the best and leave the rest to God. Have a good day.
