It is 25th December 2016. We celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord, the Christmas. Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful Christmas. May we accept the mystery of Incarnation of Christ Jesus humbly and willing to learn from the new born Saviour who is fully human and fully God. The readings are from Isaiah 52:7-10; the second reading is from Hebrews 1:1-6; and the Gospel from John 1:1-18. The first reading is the jubilation of redemption dawning for the people and the ends of the earth in the New Born Redeemer and Saviour, who will restore everything as God wanted. The responsorial Psalm praises, “All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.” (Ps.98:3). The second reading reminds us that God has spoken through Jesus, the only Son of God in Him, we all are saved through His mighty Word. The Gospel presents us with the prologue of St. John. Jesus Christ is the Word of the Father manifested in human nature to be recognized and to be acknowledged by us all. The Child who is born to us today is the Son of God and has the ultimate power to save us. The equally balanced blending of the divinity and humanity revealed in Jesus. Jesus is the Light of our darkened existence. It is the light of Christ enlightens every nook and corner of our lives during this very special time of the year. “What came to be through Him was Life, and this Life was the Light of the human race; the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (Jn.1:4). May you have a joyful day of celebrations. May God bless you.
