It is 27th March 2017. The readings are from Isaiah 65:17-21; and the Gospel from John 4:43-54. From today the liturgy concentrates on the resurrection and life of Christ. The first reading promise all the blessings and happiness for all those who love God. God wants us to be happy and be blessed only in the environment of love between God and God’s people. New things and life are possible only with God. God alone can revive, rejuvenate and renew the drooping spirit and existence of us all. “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create;” (Is. 65:17,18). Joy, gladness and jubilation of life is with God. Our lives have become restless and stressful in this upbeat and modern society. We all want many things to happen but to enjoy the blessings of God we need to renew ourselves in God’s love. The responsorial Psalm acclaims, “I will praise you, Lord, you have rescued me.” (Ps.29:2). The Gospel portraits that Jesus the master of life. The Word of Jesus is the comforting and healing presence of Jesus in curing the boy at the official’s house. What we require is our faith in Jesus and to believe that everything will be taken care by the Lord. Let us trust the Lord one more time in our lives especially during the challenging and painful times. We must make effort to deal with our selfish pleasures that destroys the love of God which would enable us to invite the Lord into our homes, communities and in our nations where selfishness and sinfulness abound. May you have a good day. May God bless you.
