Good morning good people, may the Lord give you peace and blessing in the Holy Spirit.  It is 17th January 2026.

We reflect on 1 Samuel 9:1–4; 17–19; 10:1 and Mark 2:13–17.

Do we hear the voice of the Jesus today?

God calls every one of us—some to lead, others to guide leaders toward Him.  Saul is chosen as the first king of Israel; Matthew, a tax collector, is called to be an apostle.  Different paths, same divine purpose.

God chooses leaders for a specific time and people, asking for cooperation, commitment, obedience, and humility beyond personal ambition and prejudice.  Leadership without vision is empty, and leadership without love collapses.  Bias rooted in tribe, race, gender, or religion poisons God’s plan of unity.  True leadership flows not from power, wealth, or strategy, but from fidelity to God.

Saul searched for lost donkeys, yet God found a king.  “The Lord has anointed you ruler over his people” (1 Sam 10:1).  Leaders are anointed servants, not mere administrators.  Love for God births compassion for people; vision with love builds community.  When leaders resist God’s plan, God raises others.

The Psalm sings, “O Lord, your strength gives joy to the king” (Ps 20:2).  In the Gospel, Jesus calls Matthew, reminding us: God shows no partiality.  “I have come to call not the righteous but sinners” (Mk 2:17).  However unworthy we feel, we are called to be missionary disciples—gifts meant to be shared.

Walk with His vision.  Carry His mission.  Stay rooted.  God bless you.
