Good morning, good people.  May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 29th September 2025.  We celebrate the feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, the Archangels.

We reflect on Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14 and the Gospel of John 1:47-51.

St. Francis de Sales reminds us.  “Make yourself familiar with the angels and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you.”

Even though there are plenty of place in the Bible, we meet the angels, but there are only about twenty direct mentions of the Archangels, either by name or by title, in the Bible.

We celebrate the feast day of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels.  Angel means “messenger of God,” sent to accomplish a specific task at a moment in the life of an individual or a group.

Saint Michael is the warrior against all evil and demonic attacks (Revelation 12:7-12);

Gabriel is the messenger who brought the news of salvation to the people of Israel (Daniel 8:16);

and Raphael is the healer who accompanied Tobit.

Michael, in Hebrew, means “Who is like unto God?” or “Who is equal to God?”

Gabriel means “Man of God” or “Might of God.”

Raphael means “God’s Healing” or “God the Healer” (Tobit 3:17; 12:15).

“Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.” (Psalm 103:20)

The presence of angels is undeniable in all the challenging situations of our lives, the Archangels are always with us, helping us obtain God’s favour.

We too are called to be angels of healing — spreading the Good News that God cares, taking a stand against injustice and every abuse against humanity and creation.  We can be angels to someone as long as we listen to the Voice of the Lord and His Word:

“For God will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” (Psalm 91:11)

Jesus cements our conviction in angels by saying to Nathanael:

“I tell you most solemnly, you will see heaven laid open and, above the Son of Man, the angels of God ascending and descending.” (John 1:51)

As we celebrate this feast of the Archangels, let us join their efforts in bringing ourselves and others closer to God — by proclaiming, healing, and fighting against evil.  These angels are with us in every darkness we are trying to overcome.

“Put on the whole armour of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:10)

May you be blessed through their powerful protection and intercession, defending your life against all evil.  A special blessing to all who are named after these Archangels.  God bless you.
