Good morning good people,

May the Lord give you peace, health and joy in the Holy Spirit.  It is 26th August 2025.  We reflect on 1 Thess 2:1-8 and Matthew 23:23-26.

How clean inside can we be?

Anyone who goes through the triple doorways of Milan Cathedral cannot but notice the words written to remind them: “All that pleases is but for a moment, all that troubles us is but for a moment, and that only is important which is eternal!”

We all have the profound desire to change ourselves and the people around us.  In the great zeal and enthusiasm of imparting the knowledge of Christ, we need to be genuine, not generic in our approach.

St. Paul confesses how genuine and selfless he was in the apostolic work of the Lord to the community of Thessalonica.  The response of the community was mutual and reciprocal.  The integrity in the proclamation of the Gospel silences evil and those who oppose the Truth.  Our boldness is not in noise, but in intentions and actions rooted in love—love that is pure and purifying.

Most of us become worried and dissipated by pleasing the external and the peripheral, not so willing to perceive the permanent and to “focus on the weightier aspects of our faith in Him.”

The Gospel reminds us of that God values justice, mercy, and faith over external performances and perfumed fumes.

May the Lord help us cleanse and concentrate on the core, so that it may be rightly correlated with others.

May God bless you.
