Good morning, Good People,
May the Lord give you peace and blessings in the Holy Spirit. It is 17th July 2025. We reflect on Exodus 3:13–20 and Matthew 11:28–30.
Pope Francis inspired us, “The name of God is mercy, it is love, it is fidelity. He is the God who is present, who watches, who saves, who teaches, who guides.”
“Who is the ‘I AM’ to me today?”
We all desire to know God’s name—to call upon Him, to relate with Him, to understand who He truly is. Scripture overflows with divine names: Elohim, Adonai, El Shaddai. Yet one name, given at the burning bush, reverberates with profound mystery and intimacy: “I AM WHO I AM.”
God says to Moses, “This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations” (Exodus 3:15). This is less a label and more a revelation of God’s nature: ever-present, personal, relational. It is a name not of distance, but of nearness—a God who is with us, who walks our valleys, wipes our tears, and lifts our burdens.
Often, we find it hard to answer the question “Who am I?”—especially when we wrestle to understand who God is. But in Jesus, the mystery becomes tenderly clear. Jesus makes the “I AM” visible, tangible, and near:
“I am the Bread of Life… the Light of the World… the Gate… the Good Shepherd… the Resurrection… the Way, the Truth, and the Life… the Vine.”
And then He says to us with open arms:
“Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
When the yoke of life—law, expectations, burdens—presses hard, Jesus invites us to carry His yoke. But His is a yoke of love, not law; of grace, not grind.
“My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
To take His yoke is not to escape all suffering, but to find deeper meaning and a quieter peace amid the struggle. The yoke of Christ may be the narrow door, but it is also the way of love. And when we love, even the hardest burdens grow light.
St. Thérèse of Lisieux said once, “Love makes all burdens light. It gives strength to bear everything, even what is most disagreeable.”
So today, whatever your burdens, bring them to the One who says, “I AM.” Let your heart rest in the arms of Christ. Learn from Him. Love like Him. And in that love, may you rediscover who you truly are. Have a blessed and lovely day.
God bless you.
