Good morning, good people,
May the Risen Lord give you peace and blessings. It is 29th April 2025. We reflect on Acts 4:32–37 and John 3:7–15. How and when do we share with other? The capacity to be human in sharing, caring and bearing the burden of others.
There is no true Christian life without deep sharing from the heart. Sharing makes us more human and draws us closer to the very heart of God.
Once, a boy approached Pope Francis during an audience and asked him, “What do I need to do to be happy?” Pope Francis, with his usual warm smile, leaned down and said: “Put God at the center of your life. Serve others, not things. Share your life with those in need. There, you will find happiness.”
And he added later: “A little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just.” (Pope Francis, Angelus, January 2016)
In the first reading today, we witness one of the earliest and most beautiful accounts of Christian sharing: the believers had everything in common, and no one was left in need.
Charity, like the wind, travels faster than we can imagine — its fragrance felt far and wide, even beyond what our eyes can see. Someone, somewhere, praises the generous soul to God.
The Church spread swiftly across the world because it had two wings: one wing of evangelization, and the other of charity.
A person who shares with their heart — both in word and in deed — is admired by people, and more importantly, cherished by God.
Is it practical today to live as the early Christians did? It is challenging, yes. But when we fail to share with the needy, we find ourselves growing more needy and greedy within. True peace and lasting blessings flow only from authentic sharing. Success, too, both human and spiritual, blooms in an atmosphere where generosity is alive.
Today’s Psalm sings, “The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty.” (Psalm 93:1) Indeed, our King reigns not through force, but through the gentle majesty of love.
In the Gospel, Jesus speaks of the mysterious, liberating movement of the Holy Spirit: “The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So, it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)
Charity is the outward sign of a heart filled by the Spirit of God. The Spirit leads us beyond ourselves — inspiring even the ultimate sacrifice, the giving of our lives for others. When we share and care, we are born anew in the Holy Spirit. Forgiveness, too, flows freely from a heart that has learned to give. To be born again means to become the person God dreamed us to be — and God whispers to each of us: “You can give more; you can love more.”
May the Lord open our hearts and lives to share generously — especially with the poor, the needy, and the sick. Have a beautiful and blessed day! God bless you abundantly.
