When we allow the tombs of doubt and division in our hearts to be opened, the stream of divine hope flows forth.

Good morning, good people! May the Risen Lord give you peace and blessings. It is April 20, 2025.

Good morning, good people!

May the Risen Lord give you peace and blessings. It is April 20, 2025.

We are celebrating the Solemnity of the Resurrection of our Lord this Easter Sunday—a radiant feast of victory, hope, and new life.

We reflect on Acts 10:34, 37–43; Colossians 3:1–4; and John 20:1–9. Pope Francis, in his Easter Message for Jubilee 2025, says, “Let us never grow accustomed to the Resurrection! Let us never tire of proclaiming: Christ is Risen! And in Him, everything can begin anew.”

Resurrection is the experience of feeling alive again. It is the spark that returns when all light has faded. It is the unshakable assurance that, beyond suffering and the shadow of death, love and life prevail.

Is Jesus our Hope of our life? A young man, wrongly accused of murder, was sentenced to trial. Bound in handcuffs, he sat on a train between two police officers, despondent and drained of all hope.  Opposite him sat an old man, silently observing. When the officers briefly stepped away, the old man gently asked what had happened. The boy shared his heartbreak, convinced his fate was sealed.  Upon arrival at the courthouse, he was ushered into the courtroom, where he heard a voice he recognized—the judge was the same old man from the train. Hope surged in his heart.  The one who had listened now stood to judge—and justice was served. He was acquitted. This is resurrection—when someone sees beyond the chains and chooses mercy; when despair turns to hope, when death gives way to life.

“If Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain, and your faith has been in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:14)

Resurrection is the expression of our living belief—in Him who was dead and now lives forever. “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection, and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death.” (Philippians 3:10)

When we allow the tombs of doubt and division in our hearts to be opened, the stream of divine hope flows forth. The cross was not the end. The Father’s response to the crucified Son was resurrection.

Death is not the final word—eternal life is. This gift is not only for Christ, but for all who believe in Him. “But God raised Him on the third day and allowed Him to appear… to us who were chosen by God as witnesses.” (Acts 10:40–41)

On March 25, 2010, in Australia, a mother named Kate Ogg gave birth to twins—Jamie and Emily. Jamie showed no signs of life. For over 20 minutes, doctors tried to revive him but failed.  Declared dead, he was placed in his mother’s arms to say goodbye. Kate whispered to him, cried over him, and held him skin-to-skin, praying he would know love before leaving the world.  Slowly—he stirred. He gasped. Then he opened his eyes. Doctors called it a miracle. His mother called it love. We call it resurrection.

St. John Paul II strengthens our belief in the Risen Lord, “Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people, and Alleluia is our song!”

Let this Jubilee 2025 renew your Easter identity—you are an Easter person, born for joy, built for eternity. The tomb is empty. So must our hearts be—emptied of pride, bitterness, and fear—so that Christ’s life may rise in us.

The Resurrection is central to the Church’s mission. It empowers us to leave behind sin, lukewarm faith, and spiritual slumber.  “Therefore, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” (1 Corinthians 5:8)

He is alive—in our relationships, our communities, our Church. He has conquered sin, death, and Satan. Let us live Easter not just as a feast, but as a daily reality.

“God raised Him up, having freed Him from death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.” (Acts 2:24)

May the peace, joy, and radiant love of the Risen Lord fill your heart and your home. May this Easter in the Jubilee Year 2025 awaken the power of resurrection in your life.

Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!
