Good morning good people,

May the Lord give you peace, health, and happiness in the Holy Spirit.

It is 10th September 2024.

We reflect on 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 and Luke 6:12-19.

Do we resolve or reluctant in dealing issues?

In the first reading, St. Paul proposes to the Corinthians that they must solve their internal differences amicably with their leaders and to avoid in-fights to make the church grow.

St. Paul opines that the church must settle its disputes internally.  Before pointing fingers at each other, we need to know who we were before believing in Jesus.

We must never become an obstacle to another believer by the way we tackle the issues of the church.

Let us not humiliate the church of Christ by exposing its weak members to the public.

Because those who do wrong will not enjoy the benefits of Heaven.

“Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, slanderers, and robbers – none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Cor.6:9).

The responsorial Psalm prays, “The Lord takes delight in his people.” (Ps.149:4).

The Gospel presents the selection of the twelve apostles.  Jesus spent the whole night in prayer before selecting these men for the work of God.

Jesus chose them to train them personally to be the co-workers for Christ and willing to be sent out.

We too need more prayers in challenging times of internal pain and suffering; and asking for the guidance of the Spirit of God in making the decision God desires not according to human agenda.

May the Lord bless each one of us to heal the church through our personal prayers and penance.  May you have a good day.
