May the Lord bless you with peace in the Holy Spirit.
It is on 6th October 2023. We celebrate the memorial of St. Bruno. We reflect on Baruch 1:15-22; and the Gospel from Luke 10:13-16.
Our unbiased and intense listening to the Words of the Lord has the desired impact on our lives as much the refusal brings pain and suffering as confessed by the prophet Baruch in the first reading.
The prophet points out the present suffering of the people due to their difficulty in listening to the voice of the Lord and doing their own things.
In the Gospel, Jesus invites us to appreciate the presence and blessings of God in our lives. An outright refusal to acknowledge the goodness of God in the lives of the people lived in Chorazin and Bethsaida.
Our acceptance of Jesus is the acceptance of God himself.
Whenever we fail to appreciate the presence of God through Jesus in our lives, we fail to give credit to God and God’s care for us throughout the day.
Anger and frustration are not the only response to rejection. A gesture of humility and prayer is to be embraced by us along with a profound personal examination of ourselves during the moments of rejection.
The time has come in our lives to examine how sincere are we in listening to the voice of the Lord and appreciating God’s presence. God has done enough miracles in our lives to bring us closer to God.
What is that in us not allowing us to listen to God? Why are we constantly refusing to obey God?
Our unbiased and open listening itself recognizes the respect God deserves in our lives.
May God continue to grant us the courage to listen to His voice in our lives. May you have a good day.
