May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 27th July 2023. We reflect on Exodus 19:1-2, 9-11, 16-20 and Matthew 13:10-17.
How do we value the presence of God?
“We count on God’s mercy for our past mistakes, love for our present needs, and sovereignty for our future,” says St. Augustine.
Longing to be in the presence changes everything in our life including our approaches, perception and acceptance of the situations. God wants us to face any situation come what may. Unless we recognise and acknowledge God’s presence in every tiny turn of our life, it would be hard for us to face it all. We would be more grateful if we only knew how much of what we take for granted is arranged by God.
Felix of Nola: “Where God is, a spider’s web is a wall; where God is not, a wall is but a spider’s web.”
The Gospel invites us to be open to the message of Christ to be fruitful by personal conversion. Unless the message of Christ penetrates our hearts and soul, we remain where we are spiritually and ungrateful to God. Everything starts small indeed; whether it is good or bad. We need to nurture that little moment of goodness that someday become character and nature.
“For to those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.” (Mt.13:12)
May God help us to nurture our relationship with God by listening and being open for the conversion of heart. May you have a good day and God bless you.
