Good morning good people,
May the Lord give you peace in the Holy Spirit. It is on 20th June 2023.
We reflect on 2 Corinthians 8:1-9 and Matthew 5:43-48.
Are we charitable or irritable?
Without charity, there is no Church.
My founder and our all-time inspiration St. Francis of Assisi taught us that “For it is in giving that we receive.” Only in giving and in sharing do we remind and resemble God who loves and cares.
The human heart melts and refurbishes to another divine shape as it is willing to share and give with love. St. Paul teaches us how important is this noble and spontaneous act of giving and sharing in the life of a believer.
The spreading of the faith and building of the Church is the task of every believer. We reach the transcendent peak of divine love in our nature when can share and celebrate all that is actualized in ourselves.
No church can exist for long without being charitable.
Caring for the mother church is our duty. We need not be rich to give. “For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor so that by his poverty you might become rich.” (2 Cor.8:9)
Even in our poverty, we could become cheerful givers when we think of the need of others especially the one who has given us faith in our church.
Our giving is the sacrifice we make, the thanksgiving we offer to God and to celebrate the blessings we have received with the other. We must give beyond our own people and especially for the spreading of our faith and for the upliftment of our society.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “My soul, give praise to the Lord.” (Ps.145:2).
We face Jesus in his preaching on the Mount, in today’s Gospel. Jesus wants all of us to reach the summit of our existence to love and to wish the best for everyone around us.
The essence of our Christian love is that Jesus died for us all and so every believer in Him needs to live for all beyond one’s family, relatives, friends, tribe, and community one belongs. Genuine love does not see the face of the one who receives it.
We all have a bunch of enemies in our lives to pray for and to have the courage to love. Let not someone’s evil spill over in our lives and contaminate our goodness. We do not need to prove to anyone how evil we could be because of the display of the evil in others.
Only through our selfless giving and sharing, we can bring our enemies closer to the one we believe in and love.
May we begin our giving today to the church, and to that someone who is in need. May you have a good day.
