It is 21st day December, fourth Sunday of the Advent. In the first reading, we read that God promises us Jesus, the Messiah in the line of David. God wants to keep David’s family into “God’s family.” In the responsorial Psalm, we are assured that God’s kindness will remain for ever through the covenant He made with us. In the second reading, we find that God works through all people. Paul reminds us that Jesus upgraded our nature by becoming human. In the Gospel, Mary becomes the New Ark of the Covenant, a Tent and Temple. God housed himself in Mary through the birth of Jesus. “Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?” (Gen.18.14). As we prepare ourselves to celebrate the Nativity, let us remind ourselves that God wants our families to be part of His family. God wants to have a house in our hearts, lives and in our homes. Do we have a place for Jesus to be born? God is interested in us; are we interested in His birth in our lives? St. Francis of Assisi said, ” We are the mothers of Christ when we carry him in our hearts… and we give birth to him through our holy works which ought to shine on others by our example.” May you have a blessed day.
