Dear People of God,
It is 6th January 2015. The First Reading stresses the importance of God’s love. Love is the foundation for our relationship with God. The proof of our existence as a child of God comes through our demonstration of love with one another. It is through love, God is experienced and expressed. It is by loving one another, we begin to know God. The definition or description of God is best fitting within this four letter word LOVE. The love of God is best understood only through the way we begin to relate with one another. In the Gospel, Jesus does a miracle of multiplying the bread and the fish. “Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before the people… They all ate and were satisfied.” This is indeed a multiplication of God’s love demonstrated in the material form. When there is love, there is compassion. Jesus had compassion on this crowd because He is Love. His love is shown through this miracle of multiplication of bread and fish. When there is love, there is no shortage of anything. Love brings out the power of sharing in us. Let us share the Love of God with someone whom we meet in our lives today be it at home, church, or at the working environment. Love never fails. We will never fail, when we have the love of God and demonstrate it the same with one another. May God bless you and have good day.
