Dear People of God,
It is 13th January 2015. Readings are from Hebrew 2:5-12 and Gospel Mk. 1:21b-28. The first reading asserts that Jesus went lower than the angels to suffer for us and to redeem us. Because He helped us all human beings through his obedient sufferings to save us from the sins, and so he has become part of us. He has become not only our priest but also our brother by consecrating us to the Father. (Heb 2:11). Jesus the Great High Priest expiated the sins of his people through his suffering (Heb 2;17) and went through the experience on his own self (Heb 2:18). In the Responsorial Psalm, we read about our glory Jesus brought for us through his death on the cross, “You have made them little less than God, and crowned them with glory and honour.” (Ps. 8:5). In the Gospel, we witness the power of Jesus over the unclean spirit. Jesus silences the unclean spirit. In our lives, we need to suffer for someone and to bring them to Jesus. They confess the mighty power of Jesus as the unclean spirit in the Gospel. They do such kind of open proclamation to ward of the influence of Jesus on them. The evil and unclean spirits who are opposing to the holiness of God always find their way to escape through excuses. It is our duty to bring our brethren to Jesus for healing and exorcism. How many people have you brought to Jesus for healing and exorcism so far in your lives? May the Lord bless you.
