It is 04th April 2015. We begin the Easter Vigil. There are seven readings from the Old Testament and two readings from the New Testament. The Gospel is from Mk. 16:1-7. The women went to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus as a sign of love, devotion and respect. “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. HE HAS RISEN! He is not here.” (Mk.16:6). The resurrection of Jesus is the central vital importance to our faith. Jesus passed through the death and gloriously raised from the Dead. He was living. He is living and He will be living for ever. He is life itself. There is no life without Jesus. In Him there is life and those who believe in Him will have life eternal. “Much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness exercise dominion in life through the One Man, Jesus Christ.” (Rom.5:17). The promise He gave us to be with us always, He kept it. The resurrection is not a mere theological faith statement, idea, and hope, but it is the historical fact foundational fact to our following the Risen Lord. “If Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain and your faith has been in vain.” (1 Cor.15:14). The resurrection of Jesus has offered the assurance that we will be resurrected after our death. “In fact, Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died.” (1 Cor 15:20). Jesus is the example to be proclaimed as a life giver. In all our life situation, when things seem to be finished, hopeless, fruitless, God can still inject hope, fruitfulness and life back. May this Easter bring your life back to Jesus, and closer to Jesus. Wishing you all a Blessed Easter.
