It is 06th April 2015. The readings are from Acts. 2:14, 22-33 and the Gospel from Mt. 28:8-15. The first reading brings out the belief of St. Peter on behalf of the entire early Christian believers. The Acts of the Apostles is called the Gospel of the Resurrection. The Acts believes strongly that the passion and crucifixion did not happen by accident and it is the fulfilment of the prophecy and a final proof that Jesus was indeed God’s Chosen One. The fact of the resurrection injected a new vigour and enthusiasm among the Apostles. The Risen Lord is always with us. We must need to become a truly believers in God through His beloved Son Jesus by our personal encounter with Risen Lord daily. The Responsorial Psalm praises, “Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.” (Ps.16:1-2a). The Gospel encounters the Risen Lord through Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to go and tell the brothers that the Lord is Risen. Brothers are His disciples. The Risen Lord has forgiven the apostles and calls them brothers and wanted to meet them in Galilee. The Risen Jesus met the women, who went and spread the news that Jesus was alive. There are two kinds of people. One who strongly believe in the resurrection and another group go to the extent of using all their resources not to believe in the resurrection of Jesus. Which group do we belong? Whichever group we belong the Risen Lord loves us, forgives us and wants to meet us personally. Our personal meeting point is the Eucharist and the others Sacraments of the Church. Jesus still awaits for us. Do we have time for the Risen Lord Jesus? May God bless you and have a good day.
