It is 07th April 2015. The readings from Acts. 2:36-41 and the Gospel from Jn. 20:8-15. The first reading is the clear response to the message of the Cross is the repentance which brought the first converts. After listening to the preaching and proclamation of Peter, they asked, “Brothers, what should we do? Peter said to them “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:37-38). Repentance means afterthought which looks better and leads to action: a change of heart and action. The message of the resurrection must lead us to repent and to respond with the appropriate action. “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and the prayers.”(Acts.2:42). Repentance brings forgiveness and we will experience the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Responsorial Psalm praises, “The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” (Ps. 33:5b). The Gospel reports the personal encounter of Mary Magdalene with the Risen Lord Jesus. Meeting the Risen Lord is an experience of faith. We need to have a deep faith towards the Risen Lord to experience Him and to spread the news that Jesus lives among us. We need to report the community after meeting the Risen Lord. We all need to see the Risen Lord in our own faith sharing and encounters. May the Lord bless you.
