It is 17th April 2015. The readings are from Acts.5:34-42 and the Gospel from Jn. 6:1-15. The first reading speaks about an unexpected help comes from Gamaliel, the teacher, who spoke in favour the apostles. The apostles enjoyed the freedom once again to preach and teach. “If this plan or this undertaking is of human origin, it will fail; but if it is of God you will not be able to overthrow them – in that case you may even be found fighting against God.” (Acts. 5:38-39). In times of trials and tribulations, we get help from God. But we need to speak for God and stand by God in our own lives. The apostles were repeatedly warned yet they did not stop sharing the Good News. The Responsorial Psalm prays, “There is one thing I ask of the Lord, to live in the house of the Lord.” (Ps. 26:4). The Gospel speaks about the multiplication of loaves. The little boy provided something for this great miracle to happen. No one is incapable or insignificant of contributing towards the proclamation of the gospel. Is there any things God wants you to do for Him even however impossible it may look? We never had enough to give but we always had something to give. It is good to give that little to God and God will make it abundant. Those little acts always make a difference. However small you can be still you can make a difference in sharing what you have with someone. Surplus and abundance is the presence of God when God feeds His people. God gives us in abundance always. Everything multiplies in the hands of God even we have little to put in God’s hand. Our thin resources and our age is no barrier to work for the Lord.
