It Is 27th September 2015. It is 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time. We celebrate the Social Communication Sunday. The readings are from Num.11:25-29; Jam. 5:1-6 and Mk. 9:38-43.45,47-48. His Holiness Pope Francis in his message “Communicating the Family: a privileged Place of Encounter with the Gift of love,” tell us that “the womb which hosts us is the first ‘school’ of communication.” The Pontiff adds that ‘the ability to communicate among its members and with others happens in the family setting.” The first reading warns us to be careful about our jealousy in our human communications when others receive the gifts of God. We are not here on earth to complain and speak ill-off others. Rather to complement and contribute towards the welfare of the community. The responsorial Psalm instructs, “The precepts of the Lord give joy to the heart.” (Ps.19:9). The second reading confronts us those who are obsessed with the riches and ignoring the poor. The riches corrodes the spiritual connection with God when it is not shared with the others especially the less fortunate. The cries of the poor are heard every moment in front of God. Whoever makes the poor to cry need to face the wrath of God. The Gospel reprimands us that we must not become an obstacle to anyone neither to us nor to the other, more particularly those little ones who belong to the Lord. Jesus instructs us to avoid what causes to sin. It is better to be contented with little and reach heaven than to have plenty and sinful reaching hell. May God help you to communicate with others in order to keep our communication with God intact. Have a good day.
