It is 01st December 2015. The readings are from Is.11:1-10 and the Gospel from 10:21-24. The first reading talks about the last of the Davidic prophecies. Jesus is the second David on whom the Spirit of God rested and remained with Him. The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are highlighted in Messiah so as to bring the divine character of Him. In his Kingdom, there will be justice with integrity, equity for all the poor, the faithfulness is the life style of His kingdom. He will restore the original unity, tolerance and beauty through a profound change which will affect the very core nature of human as well as animals. It is the change of behavior to co-exist with the other. It is possible when the entire world is filled with the knowledge of the Lord. Jesus is the universal king of such kingdom. We too are invited to have a radical change within during this time of the Advent. The responsorial Psalm prays, “In his days justice shall flourish and peace till the moon fails.” (Ps.71:7). The Gospel calls us to have simplicity to know God. Prejudices, biased mindset, and an all-knowing-attitude will not allow us to experience God through Christ. We need to have the openness of the little children to know God. God reveals himself through Jesus to the simple people. We too need to be open to the Word of God without pride and prejudice. May God give you peace.
