It is 25th December 2015. We celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of our Lord. Wishing you all a Joyful Christmas. May Christ Jesus be born in your lives and may you all have a day full of peace and blessings. “Today a light will shine upon us, for the Lord is born for us; and he will be called Wondrous God, Prince of peace, Father of future ages: and his reign will be without end.” (Is.9:1, 5; Lk.1:33). The readings are from Is. 62:11-12; Titus 3:4-7 and the Gospel from Lk.2:15-20. The first reading offers hope to all of us that Jesus Christ our Saviour has been born for us. The responsorial Psalm praises, “A light will shine on us this day; the Lord is born for us.” (Ps.97:1). In the second reading, St. Paul reminds us that it’s God’s mercy that saved us through God’s only Son Jesus. The Gospel presents that shepherds are first invited guests to worship a new-born God and Saviour. “Let us go, then, to Bethlehem to see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.” (Lk.2:15). We too are invited by God to see God’s beloved Son to experience the divinity revealed in humanity and in poverty. May we have a moment of grace to reflect like our most loving mother Mary, all that has unfolded in that poor manger in Bethlehem and in our body the manger of the Lord. Christmas is the time to rejoice for the gift of Jesus to the humanity. It is the time to celebrate the mystery of incarnation. It is the perfect time to share the little we have with someone in the other mangers. Wishing you all a happy, joyful and peaceful Christmas. May Baby Jesus bless you all.
