It is 05th January 2016. The readings are from 1 Jn.4:7-10 and the Gospel from Mk.6:34-44. The first reading highlight the power of God’s love. St. John tells us that God is love. All love begins and ends in God. Love comes from God. Our expressions of loving God culminates in one another. God’s love is seen in a loving mother, a caring father and a protective siblings and matured understanding love of the elders. God’s love is seen in every walks of life. God is love but not the other way around. We are created for the other. We are created by God to love. When love fails every other is bound to fail. The power of God’s love is revealed through His beloved Son Jesus. The responsorial Psalm prays, “All nations shall fall prostrate before you, O Lord.” (Ps.71:11). The Gospel describes the multiplication of bread. Jesus loves us to the extent of giving His body and blood. It is in self-giving we begin to experience the purpose for which we are created. Let our hearts never shrink in giving and sharing what we inherited from God. May God bless you and never be tired of loving. Have a good day.
