It is 30th January 2016. The readings are from 2 Samuel 12:1-7, 10-17; and the Gospel from Mark 4:35-41. The first reading helps us to confront our sins no matter how painful they are. What is required of us is to repent and to ask for a sincere forgiveness of mercy. There is an ocean of mercy available with the Lord, through our humble act of repentance we can always tap the power of mercy. God forgives and cleanses our hearts no matter how grave the sin is. The responsorial Psalm prays, “A pure heart create for me, O God.” (Ps.50:12). The Gospel presents the power of Jesus in the time of difficulty. Whatever is the storm, the Lord is with us, we just need to realise the power of Jesus and His nearness to us in the times of spiritual warfare. It is our faith in Jesus, brings us blessings and peace we need during the time of frightening storms of our lives. We are in the hands of God and there is no need to panic. Our boat may be tossed and twisted by the storm, yet the Lord is in our boat to take care of the storm. Let us face the storm of sin with the power of Jesus’ forgiviness. May you have a good day.
