It is 07th March 2016. The readings are from Isaiah 65:17-21; and the Gospel from John 4:43-54. The first reading underlines the encouraging words of joy, gladness and exultation. God is interested to have the new heaven and the new earth in which there is safety, peace, abundance of joy and permanency. “Now I create new heavens and a new earth, and the past will not be remembered and will come no more to people’s minds.” (Is.65:17). The sins are still invading God’s space in our lives, there is a desperate need for the renewal in Christ. We are promised today joy along with the disappearance of tears and the infant mortality in our lands. God wants to renew our lives. Life and joy comes from God alone. The responsorial Psalm sings, “I will praise you, Lord, you have rescued me.” (Ps.29:2). The Gospel emphasises the power of Jesus in restoring our lives. The court official of Herod had filled with the joy when he saw his son’s life was restored by the words of Jesus. It is not only believing in Jesus but also to act such a way that Jesus can take care of our problems and sicknesses. This official walked nearly 20 miles to meet Jesus and believed in Him and witnessed what he believed is true. The words of Jesus are the proofs for the restoration and renewal in our lives. Joy comes by believing in the person of Jesus, in His words and eventually leading the others to Jesus. Faith grows by sharing. May God help us to experience the renewal by our total surrender in the power of Jesus. May you have a good day.
