It is 02 April 2016. The readings are from Acts 4:13-21; and the Gospel from Mark 16:9-15. The first reading continues with the trial of Sts. Peter and John. The leaders found it hard to accept the truth. They refused to believe and not allowing others to believe in Jesus. They were warned not to preach. When we have faith in Jesus, we are not afraid of proclaiming about Him. When there is purity in our lives, we begin to allow the Holy Spirit to take control of ourselves. “Whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge; for we cannot promise to stop proclaiming what we have seen and heard” (Acts. 4:20). The responsorial Psalm sings, “I will thank you, Lord, for you have given answer.” (Ps.117:21). The Gospel of Mark points out the hard heartedness of the apostles to accept the witnesses of Mary of Magdala and the disciples of Emmaus. Our disbelief in the risen Lord will only disappear by proclaiming the truth about Jesus who lives among us. “Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation.” (Mk.16:15). The truth needs to be experienced personally in order to accept it. The accounts of the others on truth only add what we believe in. Our motivation and conviction comes to us by knowing the Risen Christ. The mandate is given to all of us to share the Truth about Jesus. Even if someone refuses to accept the truth, it is our duty to proclaim the truth day in and day out. The forces against the Risen Lord is growing and so let us strengthen ourselves through our personal faith commitments to Jesus. May the Risen Lord grant you the courage to speak the truth about Him to the rest of the world.
