It is 19th April 2016. The readings are from Acts 11:19-26; and the Gospel from John 10:22-30. The first reading talks about the first time use of the name ‘Christians.’ The harmony between the preaching and living brought this name as the bearer of Christ. The non-Jews too participated in the blanket of love and mercy preached by St. Peter and St. Philip. “As things turned out they were to live together in that church a whole year, instructing a large number of people. It was at Antioch that the disciples were first called ‘Christians’.” The responsorial Psalm sings, “O Praise the Lord, all you nations.” (Ps.116:1). The Gospel continues to expound the relationship of the Good Shepherd Jesus with the Father. We are united in mind and belief, we begin to cherish the relationship with Christ. To experience the eternal life, we must belong to Christ. A constant listening to Jesus makes us united with the Father. May we know and be recognised in the world the way we believe and conduct ourselves in the world through the faith in Jesus. “The Father who gave them to me is greater than anyone and no one can steal from the Father. The Father and I are one.” May God bless you to know Jesus and to show Him to the world through our words and deeds Have a good day.
