It is 15th December 2016. The readings are from Isaiah 54:1-10; and the Gospel from Luke 7:24-30. The first reading declares us that the Lord will be merciful towards us and therefore we will be blessed all through our lives. “For the mountains may depart and the hills be shaken, but my love for you will never leave you, and my covenant of peace with you will never be removed, says the Lord, who takes pity on you.” (Is.54:10). God’s love for us is guaranteed. God never stops loving us. God’s anger lasts a moment but God’s love is everlasting. It is our turn to come back to the Lord. Let us return to the Lord leaving our attachments to sins. The responsorial Psalm prays, “I will praise you, Lord, you have rescued me.” (Ps.29:2). The Gospel continues to convince us that the choice is ours when it comes for our selection of personal Saviour. It is God’s plan that we all accept the love and peace of Christ Jesus through His healing Words. Our refusal will cost our spiritual welfare. A humble daily acceptance and acknowledgment before everyone like that of John the Baptism would help us to meet our Saviour Jesus Christ face to face. Have we freely and truly accepted the Lord for good? May you have a good day. God bless you.
