It is 16 April 2017. We celebrate today the Easter Sunday. The joy of resurrection needs a deep sharing our faith in the Risen Lord. Jesus is truly risen, Alleluia. It is the foundational truth for our own faith. Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will not end with our physical lives, it is beyond the reality of death and to live with the gloriously victorious Christ in Heaven. It is the Resurrection of Jesus that offers us hope and sure guarantee that we will be rising with Him. Let us continue to share the power of resurrection in loving and accepting one another. We are freed from all our fear, anxiety, worries, sickness, and sin because of the Risen Lord Jesus. The readings are from Acts 10:34, 37-43; the second reading is from Colossians 3:1-4 and the Gospel from John 20:1-9. We read in the first reading the personal testimony of St. Peter that Jesus, not only risen and He has personally appeared to His disciples. St. Peter is the witness of the Risen Lord, and Jesus alone has the power to judge us all. The responsorial Psalm praises, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.” (Ps.118:24). St. Paul cements our hope asserting, “When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with Him in glory.” (Col.3:4). The Gospel presents us with the empty tomb and the firsthand experience of Mary Magdala. The resurrection of Jesus is the indeed a mystery, we cannot comprehend with our reason, we truly need the eyes of faith to experience the Risen Lord Jesus. The only sign that is offered to us is the empty tomb. Who we believe is much more powerfully profound than what we can perceive. We too have the privileged duty to share the good news of the resurrection of Jesus by our regular and consistent faith encounters and sharing. May you all be blessed with the choicest blessings of the Easter. Jesus is truly risen, alleluia.
