It is 24th December 2019. The readings are from 2 Samuel 7:1-5, 8-12, 14, 16 and the Gospel from Luke 1:67-79. Christmas is at our doors. Christ is in our hearts. Love and peace are shared everywhere. Promoting the spirit of peace and love to all people without an iota of inflicting pain on any human person or creation, let us joyfully celebrate the Christmas. Our willingness to provide the spaces for the other Christ who suffer in our communities need to be offered a place of honour and happiness with peace and security. The first reading points out the embarrassment of king David living in a luxurious palace while the presence of God left in the remote backyard of king in a tent. God demands and deserves a place of reverence in our hearts not in a material building. “You know that you are God’s sanctuary and that God’s Spirit lives in you, don’t you?” (1 Cor.3:16). God desires to be revered in every place. It is God who brought us where we are today in our life with all the blessings that we enjoy. At times, we begin to forget who made us to be what we are in life. when we offer all that belongs to God, God desires to do great things in our life. “The Lord will make you great; the Lord will make you a House.” (2 Sam.7:12). The responsorial Psalm praises, “I will sing for ever of your love, O Lord.” (Ps.88:2). As in the Gospel, we all need to sing and praise God like Zechariah for have fulfilled the promise of giving us Messiah in the person of Jesus. God is faithful to us. As the prophecy is fulfilled, may we begin a new life in God through His only begotten Son Jesus. May our faith be witnessed in our holiness and living out virtues with a new vigour in truth and spirit. God comes to help us at all times and never forget us no matter what we have done to God. May the celebration of Christmas renew and invigorate our faith in Jesus and accept Him and proclaim Him as our Saviour. We all are entitled to enjoy the tender mercy of God displayed in a humble way at the manger. May you have a day of blessing as we all are awaiting to celebrate the glorious day of our salvation, the birth of a new born king and messiah. May you have a good day and God bless you.
