It is 23rd March 2020. The readings are from Isaiah 65:17-21; and the Gospel from John 4:43-54. Happiness and all kinds of blessings come only by faith in God. We need to believe in ourselves and in our potentialities and the divine presence right within. “I can do all things with the one who strengthens me.” (Phil.4:13). Faith in God and Jesus allow us to do things we do not do so spontaneously. In the first reading, God expresses God’s longing to create a new Heaven and Earth. Newness is possible in the environment of faith. Faith is not a jumping board for success and prosperity but it is the oxygen of our core being. “Without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Heb.11:6). God alone senses our needs and necessities. God does not ignore them or undermine them rather God rewards them and enriches them for our personal and common good. God promises to lift the moaning veil from the people of Israel in the first reading. “I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; no more shall the sound of weeping be heard in it, or the cry of distress.” (Is.65:19). As the entire humanity is facing this unprecedented time, we need to listen to our governments and its guidance and directions. It is time to be grateful for those who do such sacrifice on behalf of God and the community by being near to those who are in need of help and healing during this most painful and depressing moments in humanity. The responsorial Psalm acclaims, “I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.” (Ps.30:1). God is with us and assures us all that with faith in God and trust in our leaders, we can go through and deal with the pandemic that we face now. Let us also remember to breathe peace and prayer waves and vibes around to all those who are sick, and those who care for them. Faith in Jesus will never go unrewarded. We can face it all come what may with the strength we obtain placing our faith in Jesus. Trusting in the Words of Jesus is the need of the hour for personal and communal healing. Jesus never goes back what He has articulated. We have hope and healing in the healing Words of the Lord always. Let us continue to believe the Lord Jesus and His promises of healing to be well. May you have day of peace and healing. May God bless you.
