It is 8th October 2020.

The readings are from Galatians 3:1-5; and the Gospel from Luke 11:5-13.

Faith enhances the experiences of God in the Holy Spirit.  Spiritual life is fruitless without the Holy Spirit.  We cannot pray until we acknowledge the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit present in our quest for God.

In the first reading, St. Paul encourages the Galatians to acknowledge their faith for all that they have in their life not mere adherence of a bunch of law.  A person who has a strong faith has no difficulty in following the most challenging laws.  People who are unfaithful to God could be possibly unfaithful in following the law too.  Faith brings all the blessings while the law protects the blessings from God.

The responsorial verses praises, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; he has come to save his people.” (Lk.1:68).

The Gospel sets the tone of prayer as persistence. Without unwavering trust, we cannot persevere in our prayer life. Charity without prayer is waste of time. “For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Lk.11:8).  We can obtain everything we ask, search and knock with love for the other even when they not worthy or wrong to ask.  Charity is the fast lane to reach the deepest longings of our life.  The Holy Spirit loves to reside in a generous and forgiving heart.  God does not think for a second time in offering the Holy Spirit to those who care, love and forgive without expecting anything in return.  We enjoy the desired intimacy with God by the help of the Holy Spirit.  May the Lord help us to grow in personal prayer life with the power of the Holy Spirit and charity shown to all.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
